Many people have long had an issue with using tiles in the bathroom. The main issue with tiles is the grout – it is almost impossible to keep clean and can harbour mould growth. Householders have looked to a range of products to try and overcome this problem including wallpaper that looks like tiles, cladding and bathroom wall panels.

Large bathroom wall panels have been around for many years as an alternative to tiles. Most commonly they are made out of a sandwich construction where the core is made of plywood or MDF and the front and back of the panel are faced with a decorative laminate. As the laminate is a printed finish manufacturers are able to emulate marbles, natural stones and other designs to give an aesthetically appealing finish.
